How to Export Video from a Dahua NVR

Export Video Directly from the Dahua NVR

1. Insert a USB drive into the NVR’s front or rear USB port.
2. Right-click the live view and select Main Menu.
3. Go to Backup. On some versions, this may be under File → Backup.
4. Select the camera channel or channels you need.
5. Set the start and end date/time.
6. Click Add to search for matching footage.
7. Select the clips you want to export.
8. Choose the export format, such as DAV or MP4.
9. Click Backup or Start.
10. Wait for the progress bar to finish before removing the USB drive.

Export Using SmartPSS

1. Open SmartPSS and connect to the NVR.
2. Open the Playback panel.
3. Select the camera and time range.
4. Use the clip/scissors tool to mark the section you need.
5. Click Export.
6. Select the destination folder and file format.
7. Confirm the export.

Export Using the DMSS Mobile App

1. Open DMSS and go to Playback.
2. Select the camera and desired time range.
3. Tap the Download/Clip icon.
4. Save the footage to your phone or app storage.
